There are three very crucial pieces needed to build the foundation of your business. Just like a foundation of a house, you need a solid foundation for your business. Without it, it’ll most likely crumble and fail. You want to ensure all the pieces of the puzzle fit together in line. I am here to give you the pieces of the puzzle. There’s three pieces to help build the strongest foundation your business could possibly have.

1. The Vision and your Mission

In order to have success in your business, you need to have a vision in mind. What’s your vision? Who do you want to help? For an example, I am a big fan of lead automation, so my vision for my own coaching business is to help those who wish to implement automation into their own business. Now that you have your vision, what’s your mission? Why do you want to be a coach? For me, it’s about freedom. Freedom of money, time, abundance… I don’t want to be in a cubicle. If you’re a health coach, your
mission could be about weight loss, and healthy eating.

Once your mission has been identified, you want to break your vision down to a five year plan, a three year plan, and a one year plan. Know how you’re going to hit each of these milestones. As you grow your business, your mission is that passion behind growing your business. As a business owner, you will hit challenges, or face less than favorable situations. Knowing that vision and mission keeps you going through and overcoming those obstacles.

2. Your ‘Why’ and your Story

You need to know why you’re starting your business. Is it to be at home more with your kids? Are you looking to travel full-time without worrying about running out of time off? Your story behind your business helps you become more relatable to your clients and audience. People love books and movies because they want to root for the underdog, right? Knowing that ordinary every-day people can go from struggling paycheck to paycheck to running their own business making six figures a year really resonates because of that story.

Do you remember when the internet went crazy when Forbes called Kylie Jenner a self-made billionaire? People were up in arms because they simply didn’t relate. The every-day person isn’t born into an abundance of wealth. They’re born in the lower to middle class working families, and being able to relate to people really matters. Don’t ever think that your story isn’t worth sharing to the world.

3. Your Branding

When it comes to your branding, you don’t want to create it around what you think the audience wants to see. Create your brand around your vision, your mission and your story. Once your brand blends in with your message, it takes on a personality that can change the world. People want to connect with your brand, and being the brand that stands out because you stand true with your story is magical.

When it comes to branding, it takes your potential client to your story – your
marketing message. What is that overarching message? What is that that you specialize in? Take your solution to the problem that you’re an expert in solving. You couple that with your why, your story, your mission and vision, and then you use that to fuel your visual identity, which includes your logo, your website as well as your website copy.

These three pieces will help build a stronger foundation to your coaching business. Knowing the mission and seeing your vision, backing that up with your ‘why’ and blending them into a relatable brand will allow for the makings of success.
